ahhh...finally!

at 7:46 pm, I popped open the 1st Mueller Wheat...and by 8:16 it was gone...

very tasty...a light unfiltered wheat, but good...five more to go...gotta make them last!

10.01.08 update: Scott had one last w/e and I gave Paul and Dad one to try ... only 2 left now---ugh!

A big thanks to Dana's father for driving up from Springfield, Mo. with a 6-pack of the Mueller Unfiltered Wheat...now we look forward to getting our hands on the Hefe-Weizen too.

WUW '08 Special Edition ... A Great Success

Well, what a great celebration of Weiss we had last night! (22nd floor~patio of the Tribune Tower)

A special thanks to Denise for hosting the event...what a venue!

First off, a big thanks to all those who came out this summer to join in the 2nd annual Weiss-Up Wed. summer-celebration...especially Scott, Al, and new comer Denise, as well as new-comers Dave, Martha, Melissa and Bernice.

15 evenings of visiting Weiss-serving spots (same as last year)
11 establishments visited, a few new spots this summer
7 or so Weiss/wheat/white/whit beers sampled
169 total glasses of Weiss consumed (more than double the 80 from last summer)
over 40 total hours gathered together to share a slice of life over a Weiss!

I really NEED that true German Weiss on tap...no more Blue Moon or other whit/wheat/white imitators this season. :)

A very nice venue, beers not too too $$... 7 peeps and many Blue Moons consumed until the tap had issues AGAIN...same thing happened last July...ugh.

A new twist to the evening was a show-&-tell... Deno waited until the WUW faithful had gathered and then showed us a new book release, The Secret For Caregiver Success in which she is featured on the back cover with her review comment...just below Alan Thicke. Well done Deno!

a smaller group gathered at the dark-Monks to toss back some 9oz HP Weiss...oops that's 1pint and 0.9oz... a total of 14 comsumed by three attendees...not too bad (but remember, it's not about the beer)
