Shall we meet at Caffe Baci on Wacker~ they have an outdoor seating area ... more HP on tap.
----evening update----(6 total Weiss consumed)
well, we were let down again...almost every single WUW outing in '08 has brought surprises...wtf.
but we 'roll' with it... instead of the HP on tap, it's now Blue Moon...that's the surprise, but we still drink it!--duh. As I asked the bartender 'gal' about the change, she says to me, 'it looks like you were about to tear up'...well maybe I was damn-it! it's WUW and I wanted a HP on tap... she really thought I was going to break-down...if the 'surprises' continue, I might just break into tears soon :) :(

----evening update---- (weiss total ~6~)
eeeeerrrrrrrrr...no Paulaner this year...replaced with Hacker Pschorr on tap...and the price went up 50cents...no real complaints (other than all the tourists :)

Wowza! ... new records were set on many fronts tonight...
We welcomed new comers Denise and Bernice to their first WUW...
We reviewed last years 'minutes'/totals --total hours spent at WUW '07 was over 28 hours, with a total of 84 drinks enjoyed.
As for WUW tonight, it lasted past 9:30, with an all time high of 23 Weiss' enjoyed!...let the Weiss flow all summer!
PS: we're all looking forward to 'possibly' enjoying a Mueller Hefe Weizen... (update...this may not happen--damn)
PS2: quotes from the evening....
a. "I don't like it." ~Al in reference to the Deno date situation
b. "I love your hat." ~Kelly in reference to my orange Mr, O hat

The official, Unofficial end-of-summer Weiss-Up rap-up
First off, a big thanks to all those who came out this summer to kick-off the inaugural Weiss-Up Wed. summer...especially Scott and Al, who kept it going.
As they know, it's not so much about the Weiss sampling as it is the good conversation. Keeping the 'shop-talk' to a minimum was a not-so-hidden priority and so we got to know each other a little better.
Things we learned:
1. Al's mother and Scott's father worked together back-in-the-day.
2. Al is 'with us' today, because his father spilled beer on his mother at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich...great story of them meeting for the 1st time.
3. Reminiscing about the 'old-days', Rush street, Cub games etc.
4. Chatting about fun and good eats at the state fair, corn dogs at Vose's, vinegar on fries and cart races.
5. Chatting about fire-brand chilli
6. Critiquing the Weiss beers, glasses, bar, munchies, slices of lemons vs oranges vs mangos, etc.
7. Sharing info about our families and friends and how we spend our time enjoying life
8. We learned about the origin of the Radler
9. and so much more
----
Weiss-Up by the #'s:
15 evenings of visiting Weiss-serving spots
7 establishments visited
13 or so Weiss beers sampled
80 total glasses of Weiss consumed
27 total hours gathered together to share a slice of life over a Weiss
Danke again for the fun summer!
----
We plan to continue the gathering at least monthly at various spots... stay tuned.

Wednesday August 1st
For Wednesday August 1, 2007:
I'm not able to make the loop Weiss-Up today...but others can/should still step out for one or two...(or more, like last week--that was good beer!)
I will possibly be at C-P's Bavarian Lodge after spending the afternoon at the Tollway offices...the earliest I'd be there would be 4:45 or 5 or so...
